Robin S. (born Robin Stone on January 27, 1962) is an American singer-songwriter and house music artist from Queens, New York. She rose to fame in the 1990s with the classic dance tracks “Show Me Love” and “Luv 4 Luv”
Early life and career
- Early performing: Robin S. began singing in a church choir at age five and later performed in jazz and cover bands throughout the New York metropolitan area.
- Family background: Her father was a boxer and quartet singer who performed at the World’s Fair. He fought under the name Stonewall Jackson, from which she initially derived the stage name Robin Stone, before shortening it to Robin S..
